Your responsibilities as a seller
Pretty candles still need to be safe.
KiCandles is creative and fun, but once you sell a candle to someone else, you are responsible for making sensible safety checks and keeping records.
- Test before selling.Every candle shape should be burn tested before it goes in the clinic, on the website or to an event.
- Label it properly.Use a safety card, batch code and clear candle warning. If it is scented, check the fragrance CLP label information.
- Keep batch notes.Record wax, wick, fragrance, colours, date made and any problems. This protects you if a customer asks a question later.
- Be honest about use.If a candle looks beautiful but does not burn safely, sell it as decorative only and make that clear.
If a candle is unsafe and someone gets hurt or something is damaged, it can become a serious adult problem. Ask for help, keep records, and never sell a design that has not passed testing.
